PRE-RAPHAELITE LOVE

 

​A return to the Italian Primitives – that is, to those great painters who, according to the art historian Giorgio Vasari, had preceded the masters Michelangelo and Raphael – was the aspiration of the Pre-Raphaelites: an art form free from academic affectation, inspired by the purity and freedom of the medieval era.

Water, the vibrancy of the colours, and the intertwining of plants and lush, flourishing nature provided the inspiration for this photo shoot, which celebrates feminine beauty and delicacy.

A small hilltop lake at sunset provides the perfect setting for a tender and sincere love, where the intertwining of hands, glances, flowers and designs – in warm, bold tones – evoke ancient, medieval and legendary atmospheres.
